Work begins on the Tungelsta commuter station

Construction Site
The commuter station in Tungelsta has been a busy building site in the last few years with a new bridge, a second rail-track to Västerhaninge, and before that the platform was rebuilt (made longer) to fit two long commuter trains. And now it is time again. And you will probably not recognise it when it is finished. An underpass will be constructed along with big stairs so that you can access the platform from two directions. The last remaining crossings will be closed and replaced with tunnels or new roads. all that will remain is the century old stationhouse.

Det rör på sig ordentligt i dina trakter! Expansivt område helt klart.

Trivsamt att du fått lite solsken också. Det är man inte bortskämd med denna årstid. :-)

It's a good thing they are keeping the old station house. What a treasure.

The station house is so nice: I am glad they will preserve this building!

As is so often the case, the work never really ends.

Stationen ligger bara ett par hundra meter från den andra byggarbetsplatsen om jag visade för ett par dagar sedan och jag bor i området så det blir lätt att följa vad som händer på byggena.

Sadly most of the old station-houses along the rail tracks around Stockholm are long gone but this one remains.

Looking forward to some time lapse here. At last a station in Tungelsta, I can get a train to the SP Technical Research Institute of Sweden.

When I was a kid the old stationhouse was still in use. I remember sitting in there together with my grandmother waiting for the train.
