She's Got Legs

It's just after midnight. I'm hoping to visit the big meet at Vegabaren twelve hours from now. it's the annual "raggarträff". Greaser girls, rockabilly, 1950s American cars and much more. This is Tina, I spotted her legs last Saturday at the bike meet also at Vegabaren. She was very surprised when I asked her for a photo, but I like the result. Hopefully I will be able to shoot many similar scenes later today, but I have been in bed with for 48 hours with flu like symptoms so fingers crossed.

Hazing

Met this happy bunch of KTH students near the mall in Handen. They walked around like this for hours. Either from the School of Architecture, the Built Environment, ABE, or the School of Technology and Health, STH, all based in Handen.

Linnea

I was on the bike going through a pedestrian tunnel at the commuter station in Jordbro and was just about to turn left and head for home when I spotted some red hair and headphones turning right, so I of course turned that way myself. And that's how I met Linnea. She was on her way to work, but had time for a couple of portraits. We didn't talk for very long but I learned that she is an avid reader who also enjoys computer games.

Black Leather

...and jeans. For a few hours on Saturday bikers from all over Stockholm arrived to the Easy Rider festival in Handen.

Dolph, Sly and Jason

This bike stood out a bit at the Easy Rider festival. HD Bad Girl. Airbrushed by Wickedpaint. An artist from Uppsala who does a lot of work in this style. The faces seen here are Dolph Lundgren (local boy), Sly Stallone and Jason Statham, all from the movie The Expendables. I shot this with the nifty fifty to get that shallow depth of field, so this is four photos stitched together. To see a much larger version of the first photo press here.

The Biker Babe

Arriving to the Easy Rider festival at Vegabaren in Handen yesterday I knew beforehand that I would see a lot of gray-haired bikers. Nothing wrong with that of course, but I also wanted something different. Something a bit more colorful, so when I spotted Carina talking to a few friends I walked over and asked her for a portrait. She was a bit surprised that I wanted to shoot her so I had to put on the Steffe charm, and it must have worked because a minute later she had walked me over to where her Harley Softail Deuce 01 was parked. Carina is not a member of any club, but she is often out riding the roads, sometimes with friends but often on her own. I just grab a map, look for a nice road and then head off she told me.

Maia

Maia and VildirHeart performed during the Haninge Day celebrations. I missed their gig, but noticed the always very photogenic Maia a little later and decided to shoot a portrait of her. She told me that they are working on their next album at the moment. Click here for a video with the band.

Cool Chopper

I'm hoping to visit a motorcycle event tomorrow. If I'm lucky I will get a few shots of interesting bikes and the odd portrait. I found this chopper at the Port 73 mall in Handen a couple of days ago. It is built by the owner so it is a unique bike. Shot this using the Brenizer method and the nifty fifty. Lots of people walking in and out of the frame while I took the photos, but I managed to remove them during the stitching. Oh, and that red bicycle in the background is my Colorado bike.

The backing vocalist

I showed you a collage with snaps of the band That Driving Beat a couple of days ago. They performed during the Haninge Day. I also told you that I found one of the band members quite photogenic. This is her. The backing vocalist Cecilia.

Portraits of the Male

Arriving to the Haninge Day celebrations I decided to go for a portrait round with the nifty fifty. Here are a few of those portraits. All male this time around. Be prepared. It was raining, so Emil and the other scouts from Jordbro did a good deed with the frying of the hamburgers. I also spotted a "raggare", Pierre Lewenhagen. He is a member of BelsebuB CruiserS, and drives a 1959 Ford. Tomas comes from from Södertörns bataljon. The Swedish National Home Guard. They operate within Tyresö, Haninge and Nynäshamn. Tomas have been with them for around three years now. Fredrik & Johannes more or less asked to have their photo taken so I obliviously obliged. Last but not least is Local politician Peter Olevik Dunder from the Liberal Party. One of my followers on twitter. Earlier this summer I took a portrait of his niece, Caroline.

Anna Järvinen

The big name to play at the Haninge Day was Anna Järvinen. I remember her from the days when she was a member of the indieband Granada. Since then she has released three solo albums. It was a tough gig for Anna on Saturday. It was a bit chilly and it had started to rain when she took to the stage. After the gig when I walked up to the stage and asked her for a few portraits she told me that she had a had a toothache, so full credit to Anna for toughing it out.

Ebba

Remember that girl I photographed during the Rock Festival in the park in Tungelsta a while back? Well here she is again. I spotted Ebba Lundell in the crowd during the Haninge Day celebrations on Saturday and asked her for a portrait. She was with a friend so I shot one of them together as well. A little later I noticed her on the stage at the theatre barn and walked over to hear her perform in the light rain. Ebba has a fine voice and I'm sure we will hear more from her in the future.

Everybody Dance Now!

A great band to perform during the Haninge day was That Driving Beat. I found one of the members especially photogenic, but I'm not going to say who. But I did ask her for a few portraits after the gig. Everybody Dance Now is the name of their new single.

Jazz and a Fakir

The annual Haninge Day was a wet affair this year. It rained on and off which probably scared away a lot of people. I will show you some photos in the coming days from the event. Here you see some of the musicians in the jazz band Gustens Svänggäng. They have played together since the beginning of time, or at least 1956. The fakir is called Orthae and he did his best to scare all the kids that was watching his performance.

The Actor

Arriving to the nature reserve in Handen yesterday I noticed a very fit guy working out next to the theatre barn. Wilson was skipping rope and had been training hard for 90 minutes when I gave him a reason to take a breather. He is an actor who has just landed a role in an upcoming Swedish movie. He couldn't say too much about it, but he plays someone who is doing a lot of kick boxing, so that is a sport that he has recently taken up. He started his career as a background actor and has worked his way up the ladder. He currently lives in Bromma but as his girlfriend is from Haninge he spends a lot of his time here.

Black Butler

This is Sara. Dressed like Ciel Phantomhive in the Black Butler. She told me that there's a lot of her in that character. She was on her way to a friends place when we met in Västerhaninge. Sara is a secondary school student. She is good at graphic design and comic drawing. When she graduates from secondary school she wants to study at Berghs School of Communication in Stockholm. She also told me that she owns a Canon 550 and the nifty fifty lens, obviously she is a very smart girl!

Lugnet

The last band to play during the Trädgårdsrock festival was the crowd favourite from last years event, Lugnet. These guys have only played together for one year but they are all very experienced musicians, and they look and sound great live. They play 70's rock, a bit of Deep Purple and Black Sabbath. Octofuzz

Octofuzz playing during the Trädgårdsrock festival in Tungelsta on Saturday. The vocalist is Helena Solander. The guitarist is Johan Niskanen. Rock on!

Mother Kasabian

Mother Kasabian during their gig at the rock festival in Tungelsta on Saturday. The festival was a big success. The park was crowded all day and the weather was great. The non-profit organisation Musikcentralen who arranges the festival sold burgers and t-shirts and hopefully made some money. More photos in the coming days.

Ebba Lundell

The annual rock festival in the park in Tungelsta is under way. The first artist to take to the stage was Ebba Lundell. It was her first ever live performance. She has a great voice. She sang five songs, a couple of covers, and a few afew that she had written herself. More photos to come in the next week or so.

That Old Tree

This was the result of two visits to the old tree on the same day. The left half of this diptych was shot when the sky was grey, just after a short rainfall. The owner was losing his money to a gambling machine at a restaurant while I was shooting his Corvette in Handen. This is 12 photos stitched together.

Summer Clouds

Summer clouds at the Rudan nature reserve. Shot from the rock at the lower lake, a popular spot with anglers. The guy I talked to was happy despite the lack of any fish. Shot on Sunday when Summer probably peaked.

In a world of her own

Karolin was in her own little world when I spotted her in Handen yesterday. And multitasking at the same time. Because while she was out walking in the beautiful weather, with her son in the stroller, she had her eyes fixed in a novel. That caught my attention so I decided to stop and ask her for a portrait. I had to use all my charm because Karolin was a little camera shy. The book she was reading was a fantasy novel by Alyson Noël. Reading is one of her big hobbies. She is employed by the municipality and works with home care, something she really enjoys. After this little chat I took a few photos with the nifty fifty. By now I'm sure she has read another chapter in the book, as she was on her way to pick up her other kid from the day care.

A Calm Day At Little Lake

This was Little Lake (Lillsjön), yesterday afternoon. Fluffy clouds on a warm summer day. I have no complaints!

Hand in Hand in Handen

Two girls came walking hand in hand in Handen yesterday. Should I rewrite that? Anyway, this is Mirke and Alexandra. I took them for a couple, but they were just friends, although very good friends, which the rings are proof of, they called it Vänskapskärlek.Friendship love. Mirke, who is studying to become a nursing assistant lives at Årsta Havsbad. Her friend Alexandra lives in Tyresö, (a neighbouring municipality),and works as a personal trainer. She looked super fit, and that is thanks to her mixed martial arts training.

A double rainbow

The sky was getting very dark as I made my way to the old tree yesterday. As I took a few photos of the Swedish Whitebeam it started raining, so I put the camera back in the bag, put on my raincoat, jumped on the bike and started pedalling for home. As I reached the road I looked to the right and spotted a double rainbow. Or at least half of it so I continued maybe 30 meters, stopped and reached for the Canon. As I started shooting the horse ran into the frame. Skywatch Friday.
