Johanna

Johanna
Johanna was heading for the commuter station when I spotted her red hair in Jordbro. The train was six minutes away so she had time to pose for a few quick portraits. She is a student who enjoys photography, computer games, fashion and art.

Many of the young people in Haninge have died their hair like this. We see it occasionally, but it seems much more common in your country than here.

Now that is RED hair! Nice shot of her.

My quick association was the old Bob Dylan song Visions of Johanna. Here's the cover art for the re-make.

Pretty girl! You must be very good at approaching people; you get consistently great shots.

'Red' is an understatement, but she is lovely and the portrait very nice.
By the way, I am trying my first Brenizer shots and I have to admit tha it is a fascinating world!

I also have a thing for brunettes. And blondes. And anyone really who I will notice!

Great to hear that VP. I shot one of Johanna but I wadsnt al that happy with the result, but I will show it to you in my next Sixteen Recent Snaps collage.

Thanks Linda. Just a few minutes after meeting Johanna I spotted a girl dressed for success in Handen. Unfortunately she was in a hurry to catch the commuter, but liked the idea of a few portraits, so hopefully I will see here again some day.

I always wonder how you approach people and what you say to have them pose for a picture that you are posting to your blog. Does anyone ever say no? Do you give them a card with your blog address on it? Whatever you do, you do it well.

I usually say something like this: Hello, do you have a minute? I'm out shooting portraits for my blog. I noticed your 'fill in with whatever it was I noticed' and I would like to take your photo. I then hand over one of my MOO MiniCards before I reach for the notebook. I then ask a few standard questions. I never approach someone with the camera ready, it is always in the bag. A few people turn me down, but I try to forget about that as soon as I can!
