Symmetry
Back in March I shoved you a photo of the old Stationhouse at the Tungelsta commuter station. Here is a more recent snap, closing in on a window on the second floor. The former station master still lives in apartment there. Funny story here. My brother, who lives in Cyprus was standing on the platform one morning not too long ago when the station master walked up to him and said, well Tomas, if you are waiting for the train, I'm afraid it will be a long wait as the trains will not start running here for a few weeks yet. So he had to take the bus.

I find windows like this one very picturesque. Too bad that modern buildings don't have such lovely windows.
Good thing the station master was around, who knows how long he would have waited for that train.
I love everything about this photo. The colors. The shingles. The lace curtains. The flowers. Even the shade pulls.
Funny story about your brother. One time I got on the New York subway to ride to Battery Park to catch a ferry to the Statue of Liberty. The subway train stopped in a tunnel and sat, and sat, and sat. I got up out of my seat and noticed that the other cars were dark and no one was on them.
I walked out of the train and up the tunnel to a station, where an attendant was surprised and asked what I was doing. I replied that I was trying to get to Battery Park. He then exclaimed that the train I was on did not go all the way to Battery Park on Sundays. How was I, a tourist, to know?
I am sure that your station master was more polite to your brother than the New York subway worker was to me.
Very nice woodwork, AND image!
Very nice and colorful image Steffe.
Beautiful image, so cozy.
I like to read the comments to this photo so much.
really nice posts yesterday and today, steffe.
The lights are outside the curtains?
Not totally, symmetrical that is. Needs another swatch of crimson curtain down the LHS.
Like this lots ...
Like this shot and love your brother's story!
Your poor brother - but at least it's going now.
It's a lovely photo. Perfect as it is.
What a fabulous window, the symmetry is just perfect and yet the little red from the curtain adds to the perfection, rather than taking away from it. Really lovely composed shot. - Great story too!
