That Old Tree

That Old Tree

The alternative title might have been:

Wading Through the Snow

I had to wade through what must have been sixty or seventy centimetres of snow yesterday to get to the old tree at Välsta. After a long cold spell with temperatures between -20C to -10C the new year started a bit warmer, and it was 0C as I took the first promenade of the year. As you can guess it was quite a tough walk through all that snow, but as I knew that the result would be another fine photo of the Swedish Whitebeam I carried on regardless. Oh, and the eye is much better today.

Steffe, I think your commitment to showing this wonderful tree in all seasons and all weather is admirable. Nice shot, as usual.

So good to hear the eye is better. I thought all of your images would be cast in pink for awhile.

Glad to hear the eye is better so you can go out and get more fine photos of this wonderful tree and all the interesting people you meet along the way.

I know and like that old tree. Take care of your eye, I got something like that and lasted a few days.

I guess if someone has to wade through the snow to take a picture of a tree, it should be you because this is "your" tree!

We were out by out old tree here in Stone Creek, which you saw last year, and it looks very much the same except there's no snow.

Lovely photo you took - must have had your camera warmed up under your jacket!
