A Very Happy Ending

Back Together Again

Two weeks ago Urban Eriksson visited the Emilia restaurant in Jordbro. As he normally does, he left his parrot, Benzon, in a tree outside. Benzon is an old lady. She's 41 years old and has been living with Urban for thirty years. Due to an injury the parrot can no longer fly. But when Urban left the eatery a little later, Benzon was gone. As Benzon would never willingly leave with someone else, the missing bird was reported to the police. I read about the drama in my weekly local paper last week. And today I spotted Benzon and Urban reunited! Urban told me that someone probably stole the bird, but then decided to let it go. It was found a few days later in a forested area nearby. Don't you just love a story with a happy ending!

Wonderful photo! Nice work. And nothing beats a happy ending. 41 years? That must be really old for a bird!

This looks more like Florida than Sweden!

Good story ... even better Shopping to put the focus well and truly onto Benzon!

Bravo!

Oh, I love a happy ending!
The bird is gorgeous and the photo is exceptional. But what's the world coming to when a modern day Rob Cruso cannot leave his parrot parked in a tree.

I guess sometimes birds can be more colorful than people!

Good for them. Best buddies. After this much time together I'm sure there is a level of trust that could not be replaced by any other human. Good story, better ending.

As the parrot was missing last week, and they didn't have a photo of the bird in the local paper I emailed them a photo of the reunion.

I figured Benzon should be the main focus here, so that's why I choose to do a cutout effect here.

I hear you Tash!

I can just imagine that moment of reunion after experiencing a week of separation and uncertainty as to whether they would find each other again. Great photo, Steffe.

Thank goodness they were reunited! It would be heartbreaking to lose such a good friend of 30 years. What a beautiful bird!

I'm so glad he found his way back! 30 years is so long -- I would have been devastated to have lost such a pet!

That's a really sweet story! 41 years is longer than most marriages! Interesting companions.
