The Small Elephant Dreams
A very cool sculpture made by Torsten Renqvist who died earlier this year at the age of 83. It can be admired in front of a high rise at Nynäsvägen in Handen. Another version of this artwork can be seen at the Greta Garbo square in Stockholm. Some of Renqvists art can be viewed at the Moderna Museet in Stockholm but not all, because he burned a lot of his paintings on a field many years ago.

It is a nice work. It is also something commonly done -- burning or destroying artwork -- out of frustration more than anything else. When you believe in something so much and nobody else seems to even acknowledge your work, it sometimes ends up being destroyed. Not uncommon.
I added some computer generated art to my blog today. Some people like it and some do not. You can see it at my blog. Brookville Daily Photo
Ever since visiting the Moderna Museet in Stockholm I've been a fan of Torsten Renqvist. His sculptures are fantastic and if you're ever in Stockholm I'd advise making time for a visit. I can't seem to find anything online about the man in English though and certainly nowhere that sells a print of any of his work, which is a shame.
I know that there's a book written about his work. By Mailis Stensman:
