The Red Stable

The Red Stable
A photo from my walk around Tungelsta two days ago. Much of the recent snow had melted but a sudden change in the weather had turned the landscape white again, this time with the help of the frost that covered everything. This is the little red stable at Nödesta Västergård that I tend to photograph every now and then. To see all the all photos of the stable feel free to press here.

The Red Stable

The Red Stable
Managed to get another view of the red stable at the Nödesta farm the other day while out walking in the snow. You might remember seeing a slideshow with photos of the stable back in February of last year. Since then I have added a photo or two to the set, if you want to see the slideshow just press here.

A snowy walk

The Stable
Two weeks on and I still feel the effects from that Russian virus that the brother brought back with him from Russia. So I haven't been out much with the camera for a while. Vårdagjämningen (vernal equinox), will happen later today, but it doesn't really feel very Spring like today. This photo shows the red stable at the Nödesta farm, shot as I made my way towards the old tree during yesterdays snow fall.

Hay, look at this

Last year's hay?
After taking a photo of the old tree yesterday I tried shooting the red stable at the Nödesta farm from a new angle. This time from behind a hay bale. Twenty-one photos of this little stable now and here they all are in a slideshow.

The Stable

The Stable
Since the collapse of the old barn, and the removal of the abandoned farm house there are a couple of buildings left at the Nödesta farm that I try to photograph every now and then. This is the little Falu-red painted stable. To see more photos from here try the Nödesta tag.

Winter and Summer at Nedersta

The red stable The stable
For some reason I have taken a few photos of this red stable over the last couple of years. You will find the building at the Nödesta Farm. Winter photo is from a recent promenad to the old tree. Blooming canola photo dates back to the Summer of 2011.

Location, Location, Location

Location, Location, Location

Next to Årsta Säteri, (the big farm building you can see in the below photo) in rural Österhaninge there are three row houses like this one. Constructed in the mid 1980ths. If you enjoy golf, horseback riding, swimming in the sea, or sunbathing at the beach, this is where you should live. It's no more than 100 meters to the nearest stable. The second nearest is at the beautiful little village known as Stadsberga. And I'm guessing the people that live here often find golf balls in their gardens as the closest of three golf courses are no more that a short pitch away. The old Årsta castle where you can wine and dine is only a few hundred meters away. I took a great photo of the castle last year for this blog. You can see it here. And to my favorite beach, it's no more than a kilometre.

The old Stable

The old Stable

Three hundred years ago there was a farm here at Lake Rudan in Handen (a recreational area with something for everyone) . The main building, known as the White House is still there today, as are some other farm buildings. This used to be the stable. I'm guessing it's around 200 years old. Today it's used by the Cross-Country ski club Jordbänningarna whose members refers to the building as the stable. On a good winter's day 200 skiers can be seen on the snow track, and as we really haven't had any snow this winter the snow canon has been working over time.

Bathroom Reflection

Bathroom Reflection

This is the old stable at Rudan in Handen. Today the building close to the lake is used by the ski club Jordbänningarna. They have a ski-waxing room here and a kitchen. This is the back side with the door to the bathroom. Normally this time of the year the area would be filled with cross country skiers. Not so this year. You are more likely to meet mountain bike riders and joggers here today.
