Dog Walker
A fun job, no doubt. Spotted at Skeppsbro in Stockholm. A very busy street so he had a long wait with the dogs, and quite a few people noticed them.

The Female of the Species
We start with Sax n' Box. Marit Barre. Instrumental acoustic street music down by the water. I turned around and there she was, Très chic. Then, the smoking twins at Vattentorget. Followed by a clown at Sergels torg. Shopping for shoes in the old town. You can never have too many shoes, is the rule, I think. Young mother at Skeppsbrokajen, a little unsure about the photographer. A young tourist at City Hall, she was shooting selfies non-stop, as is the rule there. Runner at Skeppsbrokajen. It's been a hot Summer, so bringing an umbrella on a sunny day always works. We finish where we started, down my the water. Contemplating. Been there, done that.

A ninety-meter mural
Photos from a ninety-meter-long mural at Fridhemsplan along Drottningholmsvägen that was painted earlier this month. It is called ”Från 60-talet till nu, fri att vara du”. From the 1960s until now, free to be yourself. Made by the street artists Linn Hammarsten and Pernilla (Pernie) Lindgren. A collaboration between the owner of the property, Alecta Fastigheter, and Graffitisthlm, during the ongoing renovation of the building behind the fence. The area used to have a big cultural and musical scene with a famous record company, cinema and more. Both ABBA in the Polar studio, and Max Martin in the Cherion studio, worked in the neighborhood. And in the near future, several new cultural projects will open here, including a hotel where every room will have a sound system and the possibility to plug in an electric guitar! They will also have DJs and their own radio channel. I will most likely go back a few times to see how things progress. Oh, and the woman on the bench were waiting for the bus, and the guy in the fancy car drove around the block.

Ferries
Seven ferry related photos. Four ferries from Waxholmsbolaget, the main ferry company in the Stockholm archipelago. One ferry from Fjäderholmslinjen. One from SL. And two photos from Strömkajen with a young girl jumping off the boat as it reaches the pier. The job title for that has a very funny Swedish word that dates back a century. Hoppilandkalle. Translated to English, it would be, jump ashore Kalle. Back in the day it was just young boys doing that task, it is a little different these days.

Thai Street Food Festival
Every Summer, there is a two-day Thai Street Food festival at Kungsträdgården in Stockholm. Which I never remember, mostly because I am more of an Italian cuisine type of guy. Anywho, I was in the area, it was way too early, but I decided to walk in for a look. Since last year's terror scare in Sweden, there is often a no bag policy at these events, but here they just took a quick look before letting me in. A few people were eating and drinking, a water delivery dude arrived, and the two security guards looked bored. But on Flickr I heard from my Aussie contact Brian that the security guy to the left in my photo had to remove a drunk man that was stripping down naked later in the day while in front of the big stage, the same stage where Janine sang Country Road in yesterday's post.

Country road, take me home
Country, blues and rock´n´roll. Janine Nyman performing at CBR Stockholm a festival held at Kungsträdgården earlier this month. I walked around the park while she played a few songs. Not just country, and not just her own music.

No change without changing
No Greta Thunberg outside the Government building last Friday. She was in Melle, in France protesting against the construction of huge water reservoirs for irrigation, but I did get a photo of this young woman protesting with her sign instead.

Sixteen recent street scenes
Sixteen recent street scenes, again. From Biblioteksgatan. Stureplan. Skeppsbrokajen. The gold bridge. Hamngatan. Kungsträdgården. Norrmalmstorg. Always fun with the different reactions from the people noticing the camera. Some are happy. Others more reserved. Some don't like it at all. Others looks surprised. And of course quite a few people are not aware of the guy with the big canon.
