Could be a correct guess in more ways than one this. It is a clever word pun. The sentence means that the trees lose their leaves come Autumn, but also that the prime Minister Stefan Löfven will lose the general election in early September. You need to read up on the facts Linda. There are more old American cars in Sweden than in the US.
