Out on the water

The Canoeist Sea Monster? till bloggen
Summer is here. Maybe not if you ask a meteorologist, but just give them one more day and they will agree with me. Here are three water photos to cool you down a bit. I spotted the canoeist as he paddled past my favorite beach Årsta Havsbad at Horsfjärden a couple of days ago. The snake swam past me as I was eating a lunch while sitting on a pier at the Lower lake at the Rudan nature reserve yesterday afternoon. When it was gone I zoomed in on the fisher sitting in his inflatable boat. All photos taken with the "old" Canon and the silent zoom lens.

A nice series of shots. What kind of snake, do you know? Whenever I see a snake in the water, I think of water moccasins which are deadly and will try to get in your boat and actually chase you. They're quite prevalent in Florida, Texas and other of our southern states.

That guy in the canoe looks so small sitting out there in that big expanse of water.

I was born and raised in a sub tropical country in the heart of South America and I never had the opportunity of seeing a snake there-and nobody wants to believes me.

And then I have the privilege of seeing that a Nordic land has "those" creatures?
Yikes, how ignorant I am...

Stefan, you're so brave! You should have run in the opposite direction (and we wont tell your Mom just for this time).

P. S. Fantastic photos as usual! Especially the one of that scary thing!

I'm surprised first that there are snakes there, and that they'd be in the water!

A Nordic snake? That's a concept I had not considered before. Of course you must have them but it's not part of Americans' vision of Scandinavia.

A solitary pursuit... even for the snake, it seems.
