Carriage house

Carriage house Vagnslider Vagnslider
This is an old vagnslider. Carriage house in English. What every farm had back in the day. I had a look inside and there are still plenty of forgotten wagons in this collapsed building. The farm is long gone, but the old cottage is still there, as is a newer house. The property at Högsta along Åvavägen in rural Österhaninge was known as Anderssongården as the Andersson family has owned it for four generations. And they are still here today.

Sad to see such buildings fall into disrepair.

There's a wagon in there Steffe? Not long to go now before this poor old structure collapses!

Nej, inte ens lite färg kommer att hjälpa. Det ser ut att ha kommit till vägs ände så att säga.

Bra dokumenterat av dig. Snart är det en brädhög på marken och sedan fraktas bråten bort eller förmultnar där det ligger.

Maybe it was beyond repair?
Seems the owners are not worried about it...
Thanks for the photos, Stefan.

The second law of thermodynamics in action. Could you roll the wagons out?

It's a generational thing Maria. The current owners parents opened a convenient store many years ago after giving up farming. That store is a few kilometres away at the Gålö peninsula. The next two generations have had nothing to do with farming at all and the woman I talked to have lived a city life for many years.

You could easily remove the old wagons Bob. But there's no interest in that. Just across the road at the next Högsta farm, a barn filled with wagons and other farming equipment collapsed a few Winters ago. A few years down the line and all that's left there now are a couple of those wagons, today sitting in high grass.

I'm surprised that the owners have not taken this down. In the U.S., owners would be worried about their liability if someone was injured at that site.

It looks like chaos surrounded by order. The trees are odered perfect. Wonderful contrast of meanings.
