The Law Student

Ellinor
The Law Student
Ellinor was easy to spot for several reasons. Lips. Nose ring. Outfit. Knit cap. Hair style. She was the first of the three girls I noticed on a bench at Poseidon's square in Handen. She is a secondary school student studying law. She lives at an old farm at the Gålö peninsula, and as I try to visit old farms every now and then I might visit Östra Bondäng later in the year, but it is a long bike ride from where I live. When it comes to hobbies Ellinor enjoys two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) computer graphics. Just like Tove, Ellinor is a member of Young Left. Oh, and before you ask, the black knit cap was a gift from a few friends. The second photo is a Brenizer style portrait. It is 15 photos shot at f.2.

Här hittar vi attityd i mängd. Texten på mössan ger liksom lite hjälp på traven när det gäller min bedömning men utstrålningen finns där hos tjejen.

Jag tycker det mer närgångna ansiktsporträttet är mycket bra!

The word on her cap is never used in print in English in the USA and it is spoken only in the most vile of circumstances. I am surprised to see it displayed on clothing in public. If anyone were to insult a woman by calling or referring to her with that word, no one would even repeat the word when referring to the insult, but would simply refer to it as the "c-word." The f-word is in common usage. The c-word is not. It is such a nasty term that I don't think I have heard anyone utter the word in 40 years.

I totally agree with Dave. We in the US consider it an insulting, crude word. I taught young students for years, have heard all kinds of language, but have NEVER, even once, heard a kid use that word. Nor have I known any adults utter it. Whew! What a statement that young woman is making!

I think I would get new friends.
I like your portraits using that method, although it seems like a lot of work, it makes a very eye catching photo and well worth the effort.

Fantastic series of portraits Steffe. Trove was lovely, gorgeous wild hair! Wonder if Edvin would be what we call a 'revhead' a person with a passion for cars :) Now what about Ellinor, she is gorgeous, shame about the nose ring it kind of detracts from her beautiful eyes.

Youth and rebellion is about shock, the more shocking the better. Nose rings, crude language, whatever works. Too bad because she's lovely and has paid a lot attention to her appearance (carefully applied make-up, for example). I wonder if her appearance gets the same reaction from Swedes as it does from people in the U.S.?

my goodness. i would never wear that hat. not even if it was a gift......

I cannot help but wonder why she would wear such a hat. It takes away from whatever else she has to offer. And I also wonder what that word means to her. As many commenters have noted, it's considered "vile" and "crude" and not to be used in polite company, but maybe she has a different understanding of it although that's hard to believe.

The cap has done its job. It has shocked and reviled all of your middle class, middle aged (or older) readers.

Your portraits and little biographies are inspiring Steffe!

I was shocked purely because it looked as if she were unwittingly accusing herself, naming herself, that word. My next thought was that she needed new friends.

It's an ugly hard word anyway, no matter what its meaning.
