Sometimes when I visit the cemetery in Västerhaninge I will have a look at this headstone. Buried here are four people. My great grandparents, Johan Fredrik Jansson, and his wife Hanna. And my grandparents, Harald Jansson and his wife Alma. All on my dads side of the family. The winter half of the diptych dates back to December 2004. The autumn photo to November of last year.

I really enjoy looking at these diptychs of yours.
And it is nice to be able to visit your family in this way. None of mine seem to have a gravesite, they were all cremated.

You're fortunate as Hamilton pointed out. I have no clue where my grandparents are buried. Or any other ancestors, actually.

So tell me: where will your father be buried. And you, yourself? Do you want to be cremated, and then placed in a garden.
It is really all about the plaque, and the need to record history. And maybe to rest through the ages with family is important, too. It is for me.

My dad died back in 1999. He was cremated. His ashes have been buried at " Minneslund", or Memorial, only 100 meters from this headstone. For myself I don't really care what happens after I'm gone. Which means that I haven't planned anything.
Wonderfully presented - very innovative. I like cemeteries (my grandma in Croatia would bring me for walks in old ones & she had to visit one whenever she arrived into a new town -- she was very concerned when the ones in LA were not within walking distance) & moreover, especially when there is a long family link.
A poignant post and a good job with the diptych. I like the natural look of the stone. I like the look of winter, but I'll visit in fall. Seems nice.
