The Friendly Waitress

The Friendly Waitress

The girl giving me the finger is the waitress at my favorite cafe, Malmens Konditori in Handen. Her name is Andrea. She has worked there for as long as I have been a regular guest, which is since Henrik took over the cafe. This means that Andrea now has a built in radar detection device telling her when I am aiming a camera towards her. And as you can see, having her photo taken is something she really likes. I shot this photo on Shrove Tuesday. And boy was that a busy day for Andrea and Henrik, who is the guy to the left. They made, and sold, believe it or not, 3500 Semla buns, which is the traditional bun that everyone in the country eats on the day we like to call Fettisdagen. Andrea told me that the photo really showed her personality and she posted a link to it from her Facebook site and it was a bit hit with all her friends.

Photographing people could be boring if someone didn't give you the finger once in awhile. Actually I found the incident funny.

Great! I can imagine when she is unfriendly. Andrea is a well astabilshed and common Italian name... for boys.

Forget the finger... Her face would convince me to travel around the corner for breakfast. Nasty bitch!

Haha! Love it Steffe, that's exactly what I feel like doing when ever I see a camera pointed at me...haven't done it yet, but any day now haha!

I hope she is joking- win some, lose some, I guess Steffe, though it still makes a great photo ;-)

I got a similar photo here last summer. That time it was a pretty girl walking by the cafe. I aimed the camera, she noticed I waved my hand and she responded with the finger.

Oh, and there's a mystery at the cafe. They are missing 120 coffee mugs. No one seems to know where they are.

I have already been back Gunn, and I managed to get away unharmed.

Yup, I can tell she adores you and your Polaroid???
(was it really a Polaroid or an ap.) Still got one -- my mom and my son both loved to use them about 10 years ago.

Andrea is a darling. I like her personality and the fact that she likes who she is.

Nope, not a polaroid, but a poladroid. A software you can download for free.
