That Old Tree

That Old Tree

I had to wade through the semi hard snow to get to the tree yesterday, only to realise that the farmer from Mulsta had ploughed the path from the other direction. The good news of the day is that the recent (six week long), cold spell is over. In other words, the negative phase of the North Atlantic oscillation phenomenon is over. From now on it will be a normal winter. Whatever that means these days.

I love your old tree!

It looks great but it is not what I expected after your recent weather. I expected snow and ice in the branches. Still, a good photo and I love this series.

Thanks for the North Atlantic weather information. We are having an interesting year in New England as well.

Lets hope the NAO behave well the rest of this winter and the comming. I heard we had negative temperature 118 days in 2010.

I know what you mean about normal weather, just been looking at Brisbane in Oz. But that old tree remains as a constant.

As Paul mentions, there are floods in Brisbane right now. Quite dire floods. And they are caused by the Southern Oscillation Index (El Nino), but this is not due to flip over until our Autumn (say March). The country will be drowned by then! Well, the eastern side will be. The western half is engulfed in drought and fire.

I'm with Randy ... I love your old tree.

Good luck with the winter...I checked our "old tree" the other day and it looks the same - just no snow.

'Tis a very nice old tree whether the weather is good or bad!

good luck with the winter!
here snow is expected again, and the newspaper wrote that "tomorrow's commute will be very challenging..." lets see what that means...

I always love a view of that old tree. To me a normal winter is no winter!

Hard to imagine life with so much snow around.

I walked by that tree about a week ago, but the farmer hadn't ploughed then :P I love the other one though. The one that looks like it's dying. So beautiful!

This is a very windy area Jack, the snow will blow away very quickly, so you need to be there at the right time!

It's really terrible to see the news from Queensland Julie. Hard to imagine all that water.

Hello Ida! You mean the tree on the other side of the path? It does look a bit unusual doesn't it. Oh, and it was nice to meet your sister last summer!
