In A Row

5 In A Row

I took a brisk morning promenade around Tungelsta. Looking for anything storm related. Couldnt find more than a tree that didnt make it. So instead I took some photos over at Kryddgården. Here is a fun photo with things in a row. Houses in a row. Lamp posts in a row. Fences in a row. Trash cans in a row and swedish flags in a row. Kryddgården is a housing project that I have been following with my camera for a couple of years now.

Grandfathers Tree Update

Grandfathers Tree II

That was quick, I guess the stormy weather helped. Now nearly all the leaves are gone from my grandfathers old tree the Common Horse-chestnut at Bergdalen.

A Bronze Age Promenade

Walking In Nature

Forest Path

One of my favorite places for a autumn promenade. Through the forest and over the grave field in Jordbro. The graves dates back to the Bronze Age. If you get tired there's a few benches and if you get hungry there are a few fire places that anyone can use. And come to think of it, It's not a bad place for a Spring promenade either,

My Grandfathers Tree

My Grandfathers Tree

When Harald Fredrik Jansson, my grandfather celebrated his twentieth birthday in 1922 he planted this Common Horse-chestnut in front of his home at Bergdalen in Tungelsta. His father Johan Fredrik Jansson was the first gardener to buy land in Tungelsta in 1909.

Welding

Frigoscandia

Frigoscandia

Today's photos are an update from a construction site in Jordbro. From the industrial park. Frigoscandia is building a new warehouse. Shot these sitting on the bike from the bike path that goes next to the Nynäs Road. A welder sitting high up in a blue Liebherr crane working.

ICA Supermarket

ICA Supermarket

The ICA Supermarket on Tungelsta Road in Västerhaninge. There was a fire here a few years ago. So they had to rebuild the store. I normally don't shop here. I shop at Coop most of the time.

Building Site Update

Zooming in on the building site

I try to follow a few building sites around Haninge. This is an update from Stora Arken (The Big Ark) in Handen. There will be six buildings like this one here. The location is pretty good. Only a few minutes from the mall, a bunch of schools and Lake Rudan.

The last photo I took from here was in the middle of September.

At The Railway Station

At the Railway Station

Through the mirror

Today I'm showing you two variations of the the Tungelsta Commuter Station. From here you can choose to travel south, to the port city of Nynäshamn or head for the capitol Stockholm. Either way you will be there in around 30 minutes.

Another Joyride

FMT 322

Not a pretty sight. Another stolen car. Crashed down at Årsta Havsbad. I see more and more of this around Haninge.

Typical swedish house

Sweden

I hope you can see this photo, if not let me know. Flickr is acting weird at the moment. Anyway, I like this red house, whenever I go down to the beach I see it and this time i figured it was time for a photo.

Another new house

Lifting in place

Back at the building site Kryddgården in Tungelsta. I could see the big crane from home, so I knew that a new house had arrived from Plusshus. They put up the green house last week. They arrive on a big truck. It's only two minutes on the bike to get here so If I'm home I can be there to document everything. I was waiting for them to lift the roof in place but that didnt happen.

360 Panorama

All we need now is for someone to build a house here!

This is a 360 panorama photo from Solsäter in Lida, Tungelsta. A new housing area. Another small forest gone. Soon there will be 55 houses here. They started working on this project 16 months ago. All the preparations are now done with roads, water, electricity and more and all that's missing now are the houses. They will be built as soon as the land has been sold. I noticed one SOLD sign so it will not be long now I guess.

A Yellow Bench

A Yellow Bench

T ♥ S

I know I'm repeating myself a little here but there you go. That's me. Another photo shoot down by the Hårsfjärden Bay. Sitting on this bench you are looking out over the bay at my favorite beach. This time of the year there are fewer boats out and the beach was nearly deserted. I found a new inscription on the bench. The weather was great 15 C and a clear blue sky , just the way I like it.

New Warehouse

wido crane

I find it interesting to document change. Any change. Not just the seasons. So I follow quite a few construction sites around haninge. This is from the industrial area in Jordbro. Frigoscandia is building a new warehouse.

A shortcut through the forest

The Path (October 14th)

Some more autumn colors today. This is a path I often walk (and ride my bike on). It's a shortcut through the forest between Håga and Västerhaninge. Just up ahead after a left, and then, a right turn, you will find the pet cemetery among some birch trees.

Home Sweet Home

Bergdalen in October

Bacopa, Marguerite daisy and Pelargonium

The amazing weather in Sweden continues. Posting two shots from Bergdalen (my home) in Tungelsta. Zooming on on the flowers. Bacopa, Marguerite daisy and Pelargonium still blooming. Not bad for the middle of October. A clear blue sky and around 13 C.

Watering the poinsettia plants

A Red Leaf!

The days are getting shorter now. And the nights are getting longer of course, which means that the 35 000 poinsettia plants (or the bracts on the plants) at Blomorado in Tungelsta slowly are turning red, white and pink.

Normally the automatic watering system at Blomorado takes care of the watering, but sometimes the gardener has to do it by hand which is a very slow process.

You missed one plant over there!

A New Roof

New Roof

New Roof III

I'm having some fun with zooming at the moment. Today's photos are no exception. But still a bit different, normally I zoom with a Canon Digital Rebel with a big zoom lens. These shots were taken with the little canon ixus. From an old building in Tungelsta no more than a few meters from the rail road. This used to be one of quite a few small grocery stores in this area. This one sold milk and bread. All those small stores are gone today, replaced with bigger grocery stores. Two workers replacing the roof, using fired clay tiles.

Do you have the time?

Do you have the time?

I was out shooting macro photos of fire bugs when this little guy came up and asked me what time it was. It's a fire bug. The watch is a Citizen Eco Drive a solar-powered cell, that I bought online from a store in Texas 10 years ago.

Still summer...

Österhaninge Church

This is the 800 year old church in Österhaninge. The church is sometimes called Sankta Gertruds kyrka. When the builder realised that the tower was leaning, legend says he killed himself.

I was out on a nice bike ride today. The weather was amazing for October. 17 C and a clear blue sky. I made a 2 minute long hand held bike video, you can see it at my Vimeo site if you want.

Fridhem

Fridhem

The first photo of three in this zooming sequence. The man in red is Utta. His family has lived here at Fridhem for many years.

Zooming in...

Looks like he has a tractor behind the garage.

Utta

A carriage filled with what looks like spruce branches. Utta is getting ready to drive away with his tractor at Tungelsta Road 116.

Why does it always rain on me?

Blomorado Flooding

That was a good Travis song. And as you might have guessed, it's been raining like mad today. Flooding in one of the greenhouses at Blomorado. Danuta running back and forth with the buckets. Lukasz trying to repair the water pump that would pump away the water to the spruce hedge. There's been some serious weather in Tungelsta. Luckily Blomorado is closed during October. If you have one minute, here's a boring rain video.

View from a pier

In the mist

The view from the pier at Östnora in Haninge, you can just see two red buildings at the marina. Flickr has the hickups today so this is a photo I took on this day last year. The weather was pretty much the same, a little less foggy perhaps. Östnora is a 15 minute bike ride from where I live. When I was a kid on summer break, I often took the bus down to this beach with my friend Åke. We learned to swim here sort of, I'm a lousy swimmer. I guess it's safe to say that Fall or Autumn is here now. The temperature has dropped from 20 to 14 over the weekend.

Taxi!

Taxi!

If you plan to visit Stockholm here's a good way to get around. Call this guy next time you're in town. He is Josef Baranyi and he will guide you around the city on his bike. The number is on the bike.
