Looking at windows

A few more photos from a recent walk around SoFo on Södermalm. We start with a listed wooden building at the corner of Bondegatan and Södermannagatan. M.O.A.S serve meat on a stick, I think. The third photo shows The English Bookstore. Lykke is a little café. Next, another on the outside, looking in photo near Nytorget. Creative Heads is a chain with 11 barber shops in Stockholm. Brickyard is a good place for a brunch.

Christmas windows

I have a thing for windows. Here are a few Christmas windows from Sveavägen, Västra trädgårdsgatan and Kungsgatan, in no particular order.

The old stationhouse

The century old, (and then some), station house at the commuter station in Tungelsta has been under wraps for a few months during the exterior renovation work. The last of the scaffolding came down two days ago, so I decided to have a closer look at the building yesterday. I took the window photos from the side of the building that faces the railroad. Fun note. The former station master, always referred to as Kalle Klipp, who retired from the job two or maybe even three eons ago still live in the apartment on the second floor. On the first floor you will find a boutique called Handlaget.

Fiskfjäll

Detail from the Century old station-house in Tungelsta. The wooden panelling used here is called called Fiskfjäll. The building was designed by the famous architect Ferdinand Boberg. Today there's a handicraft boutique here, but the old train dispatcher still lives in an apartment on the second floor with his wife.

The dark side of minimalism

Windows at the newly redesigned Najaden building at Rudsjöterrassen on Sunday afternoon. One or two rooms were lit up and I noticed a few people in one office, but most of the lights were out so when I spotted this "adventsljusstake" in one window I knew that I ha to get a shot of that.

Geometrical-optical illusion

If you look at the photo for a few seconds you might get the impression that it is not a perfect rectangle. Office windows at Handnterminalen in Handen.

Soom just a memory

There are not many old wooden houses left in Handen today. And soon one more will be gone. It's nothing special about this one at the corner of Dalarövägen and Söderbymalmsvägen. I just like the colors and the windows. I had to shoot this photo through a fence. Construction of the new building that will stand here in a not too distant future have already begun. And I bet you can never guess what that will be.

The old Courthouse

This is Sotholms Härads Tingshus. Or at least that is what it was for many years. A courthouse in the then Hundred Sotholm. The building dates back to 1731. But the second floor which is what you see here is not that old, it was constructed in 1817. The building was in use as a courthouse up until 1916. Today you will find the local historical association Haninge Hembygdsgille here. I took the photo two days ago during the Christmas Market. I like the symmetry of the building.

Spring cleaning already?

Spring is here! Another warm day and no snow so I guess it's time for some spring cleaning...Shot this at Villavägen in Västerhaninge. I heard the weatherman predict snow for tomorrow, we will see about that! Bigger photo.

Sky Windows

Going minimalistic today. This is a new warehouse or factory that is being constructed at the industrial park in Jordbro. You have the Perfect swedish colors here, blue and yellow. They are still working on the roof, so you are looking at the sky through these windows. It is NOT a reflection. I'm very happy with this shot.
