The Model

The Model and the Ferrari Alfa Romeo Pose
The model had a busy day. Her boyfriend had her pose next to a number of cars at the Targa Florio Svecia. I spotted them in action so I decided to grab a few photos of her myself. Here she is posing by a red Ferrari and a black Alfa Romeo.

Arriving in style

Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupé Auburn 851 Speedster
There were a few cars at the Targa Florio Svecia that stood out a bit. Both cars belonged to the same guy. And they are both a bit on the expensive side. If you are planning to invest in a Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupé you need at least $500,000. The second ride is also a bit special. It's the 1935 Auburn 851 Speedster. The girls driving it are the daughters of the guy in the Rolls-Royce.

Morgan Roadster

Morgan Roadster Secured Morgan
Walking back and forth between all the cars parked in front of the old Årsta Castle during the second annual Targa Florio Svecia,I stopped in front of this fine Morgan Roadster a few times. I didn't plan to shoot any bokeh panorama at the car event, but the way the cars were parked, and the fact that I was shooting,(mostly), with the nifty fifty made it impossible not to do shoot one here as I needed good shot of the car.

Summer Candids

Merry Christmas? Photographer Tess Mercedes
I visited the second annual Targa Florio Svecia event on Saturday. A classic car rally. The participants took to the road for around 2.5 hours, or 120 kilometres around Södertörn before arriving to Årsta Castle. I arrived by bicycle of course, but you already knew that. It was a fantastic Summer day. The area around the old castle soon filled up with fun people and cool cars and also a lot of golfers as there's a course at the castle. Here are a few candid snaps to start with. The phone case on that woman's phone says God Jul. That means merry Christmas, go figure. The second photo shows local photographer Kurt Berglind. I can't remember how many times I have met him at different events over the years. Third photo shows the singer Tess Mercedes. She was performing with her band. They are called Doktor Krall and they play a lot of 1950s music. I have seen them here and there over the years. As for Tess, her real name is Therese Myrhed, and I have probably photographed her on at least four occasions. Photos of cool cars and what have you to follow during the week.

Mi piace questa Alfa Romeo

Mi piace questa Alfa Romeo
One final photo from the Targa Florio Suecia event last weekend, and all the photos in a slideshow. There was quite a few Italian cars and I really liked the look of this Spider.

The Popstar

The Popstar Annika and the Ferrari
I met a popstar at the Targa Florio Svecia on Saturday. Annika Ljungberg. She arrived in style to the Häringe castle in a red Ferrari. Back in the 1990s she started a band called Rednex. They played electronic country and got a huge hit with their version of the song Cotton Eye Joe. In the band her stage name was Mary Joe. In 2007 Annika left the band to focus on her solo career. Back in 2012 she was diagnosed with leukaemia. She decided on the spot to heal herself and told her then nine year old daughter that she would be fine. She seemed in great spirit and health when I took these portraits. Annika is currently on tour in Sweden in a band called Cotton Eye Joe Show. She also runs a website called friskhuset.nu, a health portal.

Auburn Speedster

Goddess Auburn Speedster Super-charged
The most unusual car at the Targa Floria Suecia event at Häringe castle was this Super-charged 1935 Auburn Speedster. Made in Auburm, Indiana. At the time it was seen as cheap and vulgar. I would have to disagree, this would be the perfect car to go shopping with.

Targa Florio Svecia

Saab 96 Volvo P1800
The rain stopped just before I jumped on the bike for the ride down to the Häringe castle yesterday. I visited the first annual Targa Florio Svecia. Around 100 cars took part in the event. They started in Handen at the Port 73 mall and then followed a 100 km course before arriving to the old castle. It will be a patriotic start with two Swedish cars. A Saab 96 from 1967 with everything original except for the GoPro camera. The second car was the first one to reach Häringe. It's VolvoP1800 from 1963.
