In Disguise

In Disguise There was an article in the local paper last week about the bad/poor mobile connection at the Tyresta national park. That problem has already been solved. On my most recent visit I spotted this mobile antenna in disguise. Placed on the top of the hill in the old village. Fourteen meters high and designed as a flag pole. I talked to one of the people that run the park, Anders something, and he told me that we will soon see the Tyresta flag blowing in the wind here. The old and much smaller flag pole to the right, will soon be removed.

Well, I think this is better the the ugly poles that you see normally in the country side. ;-)

I thought it was a real flag pole. Will be interested to see what it looks like with the flag flying.

Clever solution! Works just fine even if the flag pole looks like it is on steroids... :-)

It's a much better-looking "cell tower" than the goofy things we have that look like skinny Eiffel Towers with none of the ET charm.

We always have to make trade-offs between our incessant need/desire for more technology and our need/desire for beautiful surroundings. Making the antenna into a very tall flagpole in this location is quite a creative and sensitive solution. I think it works very well.

I told the local paper about the photo so they might print it tomorrow.
