Bird Migration

Bird migration These birds are heading south for the winter. Shot this scene on a rainy day at Stav in Tungelsta. Whooper Swans and Canada Geese on a field. They stayed for two days before flying south. Update, it is Greylag Geese.

Nice shots Steffe but they aren't Canada Geese, they look like Greylag geese to me.

Nice to see bird migrations! Though I will correct you on the geese - those aren't Canada's, they look like Greylag Geese.

I had a feeling I was wrong about the geese. I talked to a bird guy the other day who had seen this flock, but he wasn't sure. Thanks for the correction guys. I will make a note in the post.

Fine bilder. Every time I see the geese I`m thinking about Nils Holgerssons from "The wonderful Adventures of Nils" ;-)

Way cool. We're on the flyway for Canada geese. They can be mean - they bite people who get too close.

They look quite happy there even if they only stayed for a short time!

A beautiful scene. I love whooper swans though I have not seen any in quite a while. We have a few greylag geese in the village where I live but nothing like these numbers.

Any chance I will meet them here? I am tired of pigeons and gulls...
