Look Mom, No Hands!

Look Mom, No Hands! I had to leave my bike (seen partly in this photo), with the Bicycle Repairman as it didn't have any brakes. The bike also needed gear stuff, a new chain and some brake wiring. The Bicycle Repairman told me that he was going to give me a call when the bike was repaired. Well, he hasn't called yet, and the bike shop is now closed for two weeks so I spent an hour yesterday going through the roughly three and a half bikes that you can find in my cellar. All broken, but I think I have managed to fix one of them. Now if it would just stop raining...

being without a bike for you must be as challenging as being without a camera. good luck.

Clever shot and funny way to illustrate your current predicament having no servicable bike.

How annoying Steffe, I bet you'll have something to say about that when he reopens! Very enterprising of you to put together a makeshift model!

Glad you are back on the road again!

I agree with Jenny! I had two of our bikes overhauled the other day and it took about five days for both.

And you could have visited Ocala; I've got several bikes you could have borrowed! :-)

How's the makeshift bike working out? Looks fairly decent from the pic.

Haven't used it yet, it rained all day today.

Sounds familiar, this week I finally got a usable bicycle but need to wait for the rain to stop.

According to yr.no I have a good chance of a rain free bike ride tomorrow morning, but come the afternoon the rain will return.

Once upon a time, I would have been utterly lost without a bike. I've gone to great lengths to fix them and hope you soon get a chance to ride one again!

By chance I spotted two people I know at a cafe today. One of them offered me a bike a few years ago so today I asked him he still had it. Two hours later I was back home with that bike. Spent about one hour degreasing it.

I can imagine it's hard doing without your bicycle. I had to do without my computer for a week and it was tough! Glad you're back on wheels again and got this really cool auto-portrait. :)

I remember a friend of mine that, as a kid, with too many "look mom, no hands!" ended up without a couple of teeth!
By the way, he is now an excellent dentist...
