Unlucky Truck Driver of the Day

Unlucky Truck Driver of the Day

Bummer of the Day

The truck driver got a flat tire and had to stop in the roundabout, pretty much right on the pedestrian crossing, which meant that I had to turn around when I got there on my bike. A number of idiots used their car horns to get him to move the truck, surprisingly that didn't work! After a while the police arrived to help directing traffic as you couldn't enter Åbyplan in Västerhaninge as long as the truck was parked where it was. Two hours later the truck was still there...

Actually, I feel sorry for the driver...there's really nothing he/she can do until help arrives.

Hate this kind of thing. My father used to say in the good ol' days (of the Model A Fords) they expected a flat tire every 100 miles or so.

Whenever they got a flat tire, they took a picture. So, we got a bunch of old photos of people standing around old cars that have flat tires!

Bad place to have a flat tire.

I do sympathize with the driver. Nothing he could do about it. It is a reminder of how good automotive technology has become. Flat tires were common when I started driving, now they are rare.

Must have been a stressful situation! I also feel bad for the driver. A spare tire is not easy to change. But it makes for an interesting photograph. :)

I drove for a while a much smaller truck and changing a tire wasn't easy ...

I hate it when that happens.
Lowell's comment made me laugh.

What a headache for everyone involved! And the poor truck driver had to deal with impatient drivers as well as a flat tire. These things always seem to happen in the wrong place at the wrong time, don't they?

Tricky indeed Olivier. I saw a similar thing the other day where a truck was parked by the side of the road on an unused bus stop. Two mechanics were under the truck hard at work while the driver could only stand beside them.

This guy was sitting behind the wheel for most of the time, reading a paper.

It must be a nightmare when a truck that size gets a flat tyre Steffe.
