The Winter Saab

The Winter Saab

Remember that stolen Saab I showed you back in December? That had been badly dumped on the 200 year old tree lined avenue Allévägen at Hammar in Tungelsta? When I took that first photo it had already been there for two weeks. I emailed one photo to the municipality and they responded within a couple of hours, promising to deal with the matter. Two months later it is still there. It has snowed considerably since, and the snow ploughers have been forced to drive around it. Some of the local morons have of course been at the scene and vandalized the car, smashing a couple of windows. I have taken a few more photos of the wreck since, and figured it was time to make a flickr set and show you a slideshow. I will add more photos over time. I wonder if the Winter Saab will be here come Midsummer?

cela ne doit pas etre toujours facile de retrouver sa voiture dans toute cette neige

It sounds as though you have some morons in your local government and some idiots running in your streets just as we do. I was hoping that was not the case in Sweden!

You've had one heck of a lot of snow! Yikes!

This may become a fixture on your blog like the old tree!

I wonder if we'll ever learn the story of how it came to stop there.

1) I wonder how long it will take before you take a photo of only the car's seats and steering wheel sitting there, with the chassis stolen.

2) In the earlier photo it did not register with me that it was at the approach to such a wonderful tree-lined road. Beautiful!!! Jacob and I are coming over there to push it out of the way so you can show us more of that tree-lined road.

I guess no one is missing it very much. Nice shot. Can't wait to see it in future posts.

A lovely winter Saab photo in the fluffy snow! Our winter Volvo V70 is doing well and still has its red export license plates from the factory in Goteborg...
(I have until January 15 to put my Minnesota plates on)

We are just like everyone else Jacob!

I hope not Red Pat, but I promise to add photos to the flickr set and when I do they can be seen in the slideshow.

My guess brattcat is that the car thieves took the car for a joyride, and then decided to leave it when they were done. Happens all the time over here.

Good question Jack. That sort of thing does also happen here and there. The fun fact Jack is that there's a tow truck company at Håga which is a km away...

A sure way to have the car removed is to hold a G20 conference. We must protect those that won't protect us.

Funny to read all the comments. It looks like every country is the same when it comes to getting things done ;-) A pity though, because the story's of Sweden having things better sorted out are numerous. Pherhaps a G20 would help indeed :-)

wow, and you say it happens all the time over at Haninge. From your photo's i haid the impression your town wouldnt have these problems. but like jabob said, morons in our out (local) government seems to be a universal thing.

Stefan Jansson said...

I will send them a link Ineke. That might speed thing up, although it didn't work the first time.

With the snow piling up it seems that this car will remain where it is forever... :)
God bless you!

No such thing as a God in my book.

Success! My complains must have worked because the Saab was gone today. If you would like to see the now missing Saab press here!
