Christmas Already?

Christmas Already?

Not really. But the poinsettia plants are ready. Blomorado will open later in the week and I was there yesterday to take some photos for their website. This is greenhouse number six. The newest greenhouse built in the spring of 1990. Posing among the poinsettias are the new gardeners Ingemar and Danuta. Fact: There's 9 million citizens in Sweden. This year around 9 million poinsettia plants will be sold in december. CLICK HERE to see how the plants looked in October.

It's fascinating that Joel R. Poinsett, the pathetic first ambassador from the U.S. to Mexico, but a man with a green thumb, found this plant, "La flor de noche buena" in Mexico and brought it to the U.S. and that it represents Christmas in countries throughout the world.

One of your nicest and most original photos, and this three years ago!

Thanks Mr. Poet. I could go down and take a similar photo in that greenhouse today if I wanted to. It's filled with poinsettia plants now as well.
