Runestone Sculpture

Runestone Sculpture
The unusual runestone/sculpture at Ribby Allé in Västerhaninge. It appeared mysteriously on the hill back in 2007. There are two inscriptions on the sculpture. Written in the runic alphabet. Translated to English one of them reads. Each and every one of us stands alone on the heart of the earth. A mobile phone through the body like an arrow, suddenly the batteries dies out. At the time no one knew who made it or what it all meant. Today I know the name of the the sculptor, it was made by the artist Torkel Dahlstedt.

Genius! It's the actualization (with the mobile phone ;-)) of "Ed è subito sera", a very famous and short poetry published in 1930 by the Italian Salvatore Quasimodo: "Ognuno sta solo sul cuor della terra, trafitto da un raggio di sole: ed è subito sera."
