The Ice Fisher

The Ice Fisher Ice Fishing
Walking out on the clear ice (roughly one decimetre thick), at Lower Lake Rudan in Handen I met Åke Bäckman from Jordbro. He was ice fishing, been sitting there for fifteen minutes when I arrived. No luck so far for the ice fisher, but we agreed that it was a good day, both for ice fishing and Winter photography, with a blue sky and a bit of sunshine to warm you up.

I've done that when young. Never much liked it. Minnesota winters are too darn cold! If I want fish I'll buy it at the grocery store like god intended!

This god you speak of, some sort of fishmonger perhaps?

Those ice fishermen are a hardy bunch.

The ice is so clear, the ice here is more of a milky white.

Cool shots of a nice looking old man. I'd love to try it but I'd fall about 25 times before I got anywhere near the middle of the lake.

A strong portrait shot, really brings out his character.

Usually they use a hut out on the ice here with the hole inside and a lot of beer available!
