The old town runestone

The old town runestone
It is damaged, but you can read it. ᚦᚬᚱ[..]ᛅᛁᚾ ᛫ ᛅᚢᚴ ᛫ ᚠᚱᛅᚤᚴᚢᚾ ᛫ ᚦᛅᚢ[...] ᛫ ᛋᛏᛅᛁᚾ ᛫ ᛁᚠᛏᛁᛦ [...] ᛋᚢᚾ ᛋᛁᚾ It dates back 1000 years. Translated it reads Torsten and Frögunn had the stone raised after their son. It was removed from the wall and cleaned up in 1937. It was tricky to photograph on this day as a young guide who knew nothing about it told the group he was with that he knew nothing about it, and they were all standing around it.

That's an interesting text from a time long past. It's nice that it can be read today.

The people that used for this building 400 years ago could probably not read it and did not know what it was.

Many standing runestones in my area. This one was used for construction 400 odd years ago. 600 years after it was made and they had no idea what it was.
