I took a long promenade on Södermalm, tourists everywhere. So the camera was working non-stop. And then, walking back to Slussen where I had parked my bike, I spotted this guy standing just off the busy Götgatsbacken with his dog, so I stopped for a quick shot. I gave him a little nod after the fact and he gave me one back.

They call him happy but he doesn't look like that or is it the dog.
Just me coming up with a good title.
Great shot.
He's not a bad looking fellow. Quite handsome. Love the dog :-D
Do you mind if I ask you a technical question? Do you seek permission from your human photo subjects? Thanks.
Sometimes. I joined a Flickr group many years ago. It was called the 100 Strangers Project. You had to photograph 100 strangers and ask them a few questions so that you could tell a story. Since I suffer from social phobia it was quite hard for me. But I finished the project and kept taking street portraits up to the pandemic. Since then not so many, but it happens. Today I focus a lot on real street photography where you don't ask, you just take the photos. I enjoy both types of street photography.
Thank you, Stefan!
