The Knights' Islet

The Knights' Islet
The name of this islet is Riddarholmen in Swedish. It is part of the old town. No one lives there. But a lot of people work there. The semi-frozen bay is called Riddarfjärden. I took the photo from Söder Mälarstrand on Södermalm a few days ago. The ship to the left is Mälardrottningen. The unique spire at the Riddarholmen church, where many kings are buried is being renovated and will be taken down this year, hence the scaffolding. The orange-toned building to the right is the former Parliament building.

Riddarholmen standing quietly in the winter light, its royal church wrapped in scaffolding as time continues its careful restoration of the past
