Stockholm eBikes

Stockholm eBikes
Fail of the year! The municipality signed a contract with Citybike Global. The company would provide the city with 1000 eBikes back in April. Since then there has been problem after problem. Bikes not working. Bikes missing, (and a lot of them). App not working. The list of problems is too long to list here. Last I heard, the city ordered Citybike Global to pay a fine of 4.2 million kronor for the delays. Something I am hoping that these two tourists outside the Royal Castle know anything about.

A Long Way From Home

A Long Way From Home

I recently met two tourists in Handen. Roland and Theresa from Switzerland. They are out on a seven week long bike ride through Northern Europe. They arrived to Sweden one month ago, only to head over to Finland. They told me that it had been very cold over there. Now they were on their way to the ferry port in Nynäshamn, from where they will travel by boat over to Gotland. From there they will go back to the main land via Oskarshamn, and from there they will ride south to either Ystad or Malmö before heading back home. Roland has a bad back so they change bikes every now and then.

Lost in Haninge

Lost in Sweden

Aga

Jan

This is Jan and Aga Witkowscy and their baby daughter Matylda from Ostróda in Poland. I met them in Västerhaninge on Saturday. They have been on a bicycle holiday around the Baltic region for a few weeks. But now they were lost and needed some directions to the port city of Nynäshamn. The only map they had was a Swedish one which was a bit tricky for them to understand. Their ferry was leaving in three hours so I decided to guide them back on the right track and followed them down to Tungelsta where I pointed them in the right direction, which was road 73. Hopefully they had no problem getting to the port in time, and as I'm typing this they should be out on the Baltic Sea. They have a company called Szkolne Round The World.
