I'd be very interested to see how much the fare was for this cab ride. All the way from New York to Västerhaninge! Can't have been very economical at all me thinks. I mean it isn't just the ride in the Yellow Cab. It's the shipping cost over the Atlantic and all the rest of it. And I'm guessing there's the return trip as well...
Looks like a Swedish license plate, Steffe! I think it's yours to keep. An all-too familiar scene in Minnesota, by the way!
ReplyDeleteimpressionnante cette photo, j'espère qu'il ne devra pas partir chercher un client en urgence...
ReplyDeleteI would like to see the face of the surprised driver of that taxi. Snow everywhere !!
ReplyDeleteRegards
Valery
Wonderful! Nice capture.
ReplyDeleteNo one would hail this taxi by mistake. It is definitely not in service.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the driver just took a wrong turn somewhere... ;-)
ReplyDeleteLooks like the taxi has been waiting for his fare for quite some time.
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised a NYC taxi was better protected in the garage! I mean, after all the expense of getting it there!
ReplyDeleteIf you have to ask how much, then you can't afford it! That's a great shot.
ReplyDeleteLovely photo, and I do love the picture of the cabs but not riding in them!
ReplyDeleteI don't think the cab is going anywhere right now! I certainly wouldn't think it's worth it to import an old yellow cab. They're not really the nicest cars to begin with.
ReplyDeleteFantastic shot Steffee !! I have not seen something like that before !!
ReplyDeleteI guess the driver has left the country, given up on the snow and are now on one of the Spanish islands..... or perhaps even in Florida??
ReplyDeleteDo take a picture of him/her when you see the driver.
A nice winter shot! I can feel the cold.....
How the hell can you hail a taxi in this mess?
ReplyDeleteThat is one of the ugliest cars Chevrolet ever built.
ReplyDeleteHiding it under snow is the best thing that ever happened to it. You are right about them not being economical. They were both too heavy and underpowered - so the engine had to work harder to haul all that lead around, thus drinking more gas.
It's just interesting to me that it's even there. Do you know the story of this taxi Steffe?
ReplyDeleteQuite amazing to see a NYC Yellow cab there in your driveway.
ReplyDeleteNot sure who owns this, but there is a guy who loves Checker cabs here. His name is Mats-Einar Jakobsson. He owns a Checker Cab that I have photographed before. And I have one shot of a cab that was used in the Pearl Harbour movie.A Chrysler Windsor.
ReplyDeleteThe tip, never forget the tip. In this case it would be huge...
