I use this bike path sometimes. It goes between Jordbro and Handen close to the Slätmossen nature park. For many years it was just a tiny path through the woods. Then a few years ago construction started on a pipe-line for drinking water, and the forest was cleared here, and when the pipe-line was done the path was eventually paved. So now you can walk, run or bike on the pipe-line!
Looks like a wonderful place to ride. There is a Cross-Florida paved path here which is being extended as of now. Soon, you'll be able to bike across the entire state - mostly through national forests. You'd love it! We have a 6-mile loop here in Ocala which winds through three different types of terrain and a couple of elevations. Fun!
ReplyDeleteWell it looks like it would be much easier to navigate Steffe, but did you prefer it when it was a little more rural ?
ReplyDeleteWonderful choice for black and white.
ReplyDeleteHärlig störtdykning in i det oändliga. Intressant att få en historia bakom cykelbanan. Att det skulle gå vattenledningar under asfalten är liksom inte det första jag skulle gissa på.
ReplyDeleteFin svartvit bild!
What an amazing photograph!

It does look quite pleasant.
ReplyDeleteThat's wonderful!
ReplyDeleteclassic and timeless in black and white
ReplyDeleteVery nice in black and white. And it looks, also, as if they've put in lighting as well.
ReplyDeleteTo nowhere? There might be someone carrying a chain saw and wearing a goalie mask over that next rise.
ReplyDeletei've used this path several times a week for the past five years to ride to school from västerhaninge to handen, and since they paved over the gravel this path has also become very popular with cross-country skiers out on their roller skis. even though i ski in the winter myself, the roller skiers are a bit of a nuisance for a cyclist since not all of them are great at following the traffic rules (the same rules as pedestrians apply to roller skiers and skaters) and keeping their ski poles in when you try to pass ...
ReplyDeleteI try to give those skiers the evil eye sometimes, but I'm not sure if it works.
ReplyDeleteI think of this as the thin edge of the wedge development, ie give them an inch, and they take a mile.
ReplyDeleteA stunning B&W shot. I'll bet it looks great enlarged.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds strange and I hope it is not dangerous...
