Toast!
Scary accident of the day. Here is how it happened. The truck was parked just a few meters from the Shell station in Handen when a fire broke out in the cab where the driver was sitting. He got out OK and someone called the rescue service. The fire station is only a kilometre away so they were there in no time. When they arrived the whole truck was burning. The cargo was bread, hence my title. I talked to the driver who was a bit shocked. One of his colleagues had arrived in another truck and they were looking at the damage when I arrived. I talked to a security guard at the nearby mall and he had been a bit worried with a burning truck so close to a fillig station. As I understand it no one was injured in this accident.
Wow! Very interesting. Great pictures. Good thing nothing worse happened.
ReplyDeleteI would have exactly the same worry: fires at a filling station can't be good. Glad that there were no injuries.
ReplyDeleteOuch! Looks like he's not making that delivery on time. Glad to hear no one was hurt though!

ReplyDeleteYou should have sent those photos to a newspaper.
ReplyDeleteI think I was a few hours too late for that Jane. The papers would probably have liked some more dramatic photos with the truck still on fire.
ReplyDeleteThat looks bad. How scary to have your vehicle self combust! Glad no-one was hurt.
ReplyDeleteWas there a toast looting frenzy by the good citizens of Haninge?
ReplyDeleteOr Handen, for that matter:-)
ReplyDeleteI was back yesterday. The scene looked very much the same, minus the truck driver and his friends.
ReplyDeleteThat is scary! I've seen gas pumps start on fire. Not a good thing. Love your title!
ReplyDeleteI can tell you that I saw two tow trucks here a couple of days ago, they tried for several hours to get the truck moving but it didn't work. And it was still there on Saturday.
