...to more snow, and complete chaos in the traffic. All bus traffic cancelled, most commuter trains delayed indefinitely. We are still waiting for the snow plougher to fix the road leading up to Bergdalen. To the left you can see my morning workout. I shovelled snow for a few minutes so that I could get the morning paper from the letter box, but the letter box was empty. Hurrah! More
news in English here.
If it took that much effort to go out front to get the newspaper, I think I would just throw another log on the fire, stay indoors, and read the news on the internet.
ReplyDeleteA few days ago I called my brother who lives in Minneosta. He asked if I could call back in a half hour after he finished putting bird seed in the bird feeders. I asked why it would take a half hour for such a simple task. He explained that he had to trudge through the snow of reach the bird feeders on their property. I had not considered the difficulty of walking through the snow.
Snow brings many troubles, but it's so beautiful...
ReplyDeleteSpring seems a little further off for you right now, Steffe! What a handsome, yellow house! Was it originally your farmor och farfars hus?
ReplyDeleteThe house to the left (where I live), was built by my great grandparents. My grandfather lived in that house as a boy. He later moved in to the one storey house and that is where my father grew up.
ReplyDeleteLove these golden houses . . .and how interesting (?) it must be to dwell among so much family history.
ReplyDeleteLovely yellow house & that's some snow!
ReplyDeleteIt is a handsome house, Steffe. It really does seem that Sweden has been battered by snow this year. Dave's suggestion of another log on the fire makes sense to me.

ReplyDeleteI keep thinking that these wonderful colors are 1) painted to create a break in the white of a long winter 2) help you find your house in winter. Am I on to something? The photos are more precious now that we know they are part of your family history.
ReplyDeleteI have been sick for 48 hours now. Fever and vomiting has been the main activities this weekend. Feeling a bit better today and I will try to walk down to the grocery store now.
