The first sign of Spring!
This years first sighting of the firebugs, a true sign that spring is on the way. The red bugs live in a tree trunk next to the cellar door at Bergdalen, and I spotted this one as I was getting the bike out.
In Arizona, if you saw a an insect with a red hourglass design, you would be careful to make sure it is not a black widow spider.
ReplyDeleteThat is a very nice macro shot. Lots of minute details.
ReplyDeleteWe have a bug that looks like this, but we call it a boxelder bug.
ReplyDeletethe theme is red....
ReplyDelete(ha, did you see that movie, RED? retired extremely dangerous! really funny during a cold, snowy day..)
Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThis one has some interesting markings. Let just hope he's not an early riser and just teasing you.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful close up shot. I used to see these bugs when I was growing up in the midwest.
ReplyDeleteGreat Macro image.
ReplyDeleteThe sun must be getting strong to bring this guy out. Nice shot!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fine macro. No signs of spring here yet. But you got a much earlier start on winter. I suppose we have to play catch up the rest of the season.
ReplyDeleteIt looks very symbolic, on this white bark
ReplyDeleteSuper!
Yes, but do they tell you when spring is going to arrive?
ReplyDeleteMaybe this is where the saying, "Cute as a bug," come from?
All they seem to need are one or two sunny days. Tough little guys they are. And photogenic!
ReplyDeleteOh ... beautiful shot.
ReplyDeleteI really liked the textures and colors.
