The alternative title might have been:
Wading Through the SnowI had to wade through what must have been sixty or seventy centimetres of snow yesterday to get to the old tree at Välsta. After a long cold spell with temperatures between -20C to -10C the new year started a bit warmer, and it was 0C as I took the first promenade of the year. As you can guess it was quite a tough walk through all that snow, but as I knew that the result would be another fine photo of the
Swedish Whitebeam I carried on regardless. Oh, and the
eye is much better today.
Steffe, I think your commitment to showing this wonderful tree in all seasons and all weather is admirable. Nice shot, as usual.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Steffe
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy pictures of the old tree.
Hope 2001 brings you happiness and success

I can hardly remember 2001, but I know what you mean mark!
ReplyDeleteSo good to hear the eye is better. I thought all of your images would be cast in pink for awhile.
ReplyDeleteLove this one. Was it deep?
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear the eye is better so you can go out and get more fine photos of this wonderful tree and all the interesting people you meet along the way.
ReplyDeleteI know and like that old tree. Take care of your eye, I got something like that and lasted a few days.
ReplyDeleteI remember seeing photos of this tree on several occasions.

ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Steffe.
Wonderful! You are a brave man Steffe. I am glad your eye is better!
ReplyDeleteI guess if someone has to wade through the snow to take a picture of a tree, it should be you because this is "your" tree!
ReplyDeleteWe were out by out old tree here in Stone Creek, which you saw last year, and it looks very much the same except there's no snow.
Lovely photo you took - must have had your camera warmed up under your jacket!
All for the viewers! Fine to hear the eye are better. Happy 2011.
ReplyDeleteAs always... another great capture in this series. Well done!!
