Birger Jarls basar. From 1884. One of the first buildings to be constructed along the then brand-new street, Birger Jarlsgatan. One of the first office buildings in Stockholm. It also housed a bazaar and several artist studios. August Strindberg had his first exhibition here. The architect was Ernst Haegglund. If he came back today for a look, chances are that he would not recognize the facade. Today owned by Hufvudstaden.

ReplyDeleteWonder why they thought it was a good idea to remove the little spires from the top. Seems a bad idea to me.
