I spotted this group at Lake Drevviken at Ulrikedal yesterday. Ice skaters practising to get up from the freezing water. Something you need to know before skating on natural ice. It was a little colder yesterday. Maybe 3C. The bike ride was a bit chilly. But you get warm after an hour or so.
I that it is hard to predict where the thin ice will be
ReplyDeleteThere are usually daily reports about the thickness of the ice on the lakes. And if it is too thin you will hear warnings. But in the end it is up to the individual ice skater.
DeleteIt is -10˚C here today so no ice is melting.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, I can't even imagine going into that water. I think I'd turn into an ice cube.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting, Stefan. I think nobody learns this in our country, only practice it if it goes wrong
ReplyDeleteSeems like a lesson you won't soon forget.
ReplyDeleteI guess he made the wrong decision.
ReplyDeleteCanal ice is more stable. I've been out on it already.
