This is a little odd. This is a sculpture at Liljevalch's Art Gallery at Djurgården. Depicting the German actor
Sebastian Koch. Sure, he is a great actor. I especially remember him from the movie
The Life of Others. But how he ended up as a sculpture in Stockholm I do not know. Originally made by the British artist Sean Henry.
Hyper realistic statue
ReplyDeleteI messed up the focus a bit, but that happens every now and then.
DeletePhotographic precision permeates all areas of art. I would not be surprised to see computers involved in that too but handsome as a statue.
ReplyDeleteStanding tall.
ReplyDeleteInteresting. He looks real standing there.
ReplyDeleteA very realistic looking statue.
ReplyDeleteI will show you a sculpture from a sculpture museum in a day or two. Also very realistic.
DeleteI thought it was a real person at first too.
ReplyDeleteSo of course I had to look the sculptor up. He models his figures in clay and then casts them in bronze and then paints them. Has been at it quite a while. Everybody but me may have known that...But couldn't find anything about WHY this guy and WHY Stockholm. Just that he did it in 2009 and it was bought by Stockholm. It's rather arresting..
