Just over thirty years ago in March 1990 the Monday Movement started here in Stockholm. It was part of the liberation of the Baltic States from the Soviet Union. Sadly, the weekly meetings have now started again. This time because of Russia's bloody attack of Ukraine. So every Monday since February the group meets at the Norrmalmstorg square. There were quite a few famous faces in the crowd. The white-blue-white flag also has an interesting story.

ReplyDeleteSuch a tumultuous history, the Baltic states. And ditto for the Balkans....Back and forth, over and over with the troops coming in, from west or east.
