Pablo Picasso at ArkDes, Skeppsholmen in Stockholm. The Swedish title is Frukost i det gröna. Picasso often looked at older artists, and this is his impression of Édouard Manet's The Luncheon on the Grass. This is one part of the sculpture group. Picasso made his work on cardboard in Paris in 1962. Four years later the Norwegian sculptor Carl Nesjar finished the sculptures series that were made of concrete. And since then the group can be seen on the lawn outside Moderna Museet, or what today is The Swedish Centre for Architecture and Design.
Seems like a nice addition to any lawn anywhere.
ReplyDeleteVery odd, but that's just me.
ReplyDeleteYou will have to show us the whole thing one day.
ReplyDeleteI think Manet did it better.
