Midsummer at Sorunda
Visited the Prästgårdsparken in Sorunda during the Midsummer celebrations. They have a very different take on how the "Midsommarstång" should look like. It's a tradition that dates back many years. Didn't stay for the dancing this time so this is as traditional as it got. But I did enjoy a bite of the famous Sorundatårta, a pastry with a very secret recipe.
It IS a secret. I looked around for a recipe in English, and none were to be found. Perhaps they're not even to be found in Swedish. But it looks to be a beautiful dessert.
Every farm in and around Sorunda has their own recipe for the famous cake. Usually only one or perhaps two people in the same family know all the ingredients. My dads first wife came from one of the families here and their cake was always spectacular.
It certainly feels like a tradition that has endured for hundreds of years.
