Clueless, but I don't think the concept of spelling applies to Chinese and Japanese characters. They are pictograms. Japanese has three phonetic alphabets, including Romaji, the one we use, plus kanji characters. That's hard.
This looks like a painted Hanzi sign so I think it's easy to make a mistake if you don't know what you are doing Bob.
You are not all wrong Jack, I have used the toilet in that building which was an experience in itself as it was a very tiny room.
That is a goo guess Stuart but I'm pretty sure you are wrong. I will let people guess a little bit longer and then I will walk in and ask what it means. I do have a portrait of the person who is responsible for the sign. Taken a long time ago.
Sure I can do that Grace, but I don't think it will help you much. The sign sits above the back door to a hair saloon run by a girl with a very cool flower tattoo.
No idea in the slightest, but I like how it stands out.
ReplyDeleteYes. It says "Men's Room to the left, Ladies' Room to the right."

You could at least give us a clue or two Steffe :) like where you saw the sign?

ReplyDeleteLeave no hair untouched?
ReplyDeleteLove Stuart's translation. ;-)
The answer was a bit of a surprise. Turns out to be a Karate club called Mori No Uma Dojo. They practice bujinkan ninjutsu.
ReplyDeleteYes it's Bujinkan but no Karate ^^
ReplyDeleteIam the maker of that sign and thx for the comments. :)
