I met the white Amazon in Handen, while on the bike. It was driving up Eskilsvägen towards the Haninge mall. I just had time to grab the camera and take a quick shot. The driver looked pleased. A couple of hours later I spotted the car parked at Poseidon's Square so I stopped for a little photo shoot. This is a Brenizer Method photo. Shot with the 85mm lens.
A really great design. Still great today and that cannot be said for a lot of other cars.
ReplyDeleteYou don't get better than these fabulous old classics, I'd swap in a heartbeat.. If I could afford one :)
ReplyDeleteReally cool!
ReplyDeleteI'll never forget my baseball coach had one of these (the American equivalent of course) back in the 60s. I had never seen one before and thought it was amazing.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beauty! Great shot.
ReplyDeleteI'd guess this goes back to the 50s or maybe 60s? And is "Amazon" the name of the model. I had two of the older Volvos...a 1958 and a 1960.
ReplyDeleteLooks like someone has taken good care of this car!
A neat looking car!
ReplyDeleteI am not familiar with Amazons, but this one looks wonderful. Too bad we don't have car like this today.
ReplyDeleteThis is a car loved by the owner ( And many others)
ReplyDeleteIt was called Volvo Amazon. Although first spelled Amason. This is the 1962 model. It was very popular and even used as a police car.
ReplyDeleteI like when the owner/driver of a car collaborates and seems appreciative... It doesn't happen too often here!
