I usually call this tree
The Magnificent Tree. But on this day it looked more creepy. It used to have a lot going for it. For most of it's life it stood next to the 200-year old barn at the Nödesta farm. It was often visited by a group of sheep, but these days it is all alone, the sheep are long gone, as are the barn that collapsed a few Winters ago.
A stunner without all that crap in the foreground, I bet.
ReplyDeleteWell this just sad. I looked at your earlier photos and I just don't understand how such a beautiful scene could turn into a garbage dump. Do you know the whole story of what happened ?
ReplyDeleteI do Stuart. The farmer has lived here for most of his life. He took over when his dad retired. The land, and all the buildings are owned by the municipality. The current farmer, Janne, have been battling with a few idiots from the municipality for many years. Mostly about money of course, and he has lost every battle. No money to save any old building here, so that's why the barn collapsed. A really sad story which Janne told me when I visited the farm back in November of last year.
ReplyDeleteOh, I think I still vote for magnificent, but can see why you might call it creepy today.
ReplyDeleteCreepy indeed on a day like that...
ReplyDeleteYour capture of this tree and surroundings kind of says it all. . . sad neglect. Your other tree is a much happier story.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the explanation. I hate to see our environment sinking into the abyss. I'm afraid not enough people care about this trend.
ReplyDeleteIntressanta detaljer i omgivningarna och en stämningsfull dimma som utgör fond. Ett spännande grenverk på trädet!
ReplyDeleteCreepy but stunning
ReplyDeleteNot creepy Steffe, just sad and lonely :)
