Now and Then
Much have changed with my photography since I started the blog in 2006. The biggest difference is the six hundred street portraits I have shot in the last few years. Today I am always looking for that next portrait, and I try to think more about the photos. Which lens to use, aperture, the best angle and so on. I took the portrait of Emilie with my 50mm lens last year. Before the portraits I shot many scenes like this one from November of 2007. It is a house at Skogs-Ekeby in Tungelsta. Although I always think about composition I did a lot of just aiming and shooting back then, that rarely happens today.
Festival of the belly button.
I think both photos are real prizewinners.
ReplyDeleteTwo very different, beautiful and perfect pictures.
ReplyDeleteGreetings,
Filip
i think the important on taking pics is not only the lens, the aperture, the angle, but even the subject. Here's very simply to understand are two amazing subjects,Emilie, and the snow cottage, last but not least, the natural lights condition is even important for captures'final result.
ReplyDeleteBoth are wonderful photographs, Steffe. I enjoy your portraits, but I also enjoy your landscapes.
ReplyDeleteBoth are great shots.
ReplyDeleteIts not bad for an aim and shoot. I've always loved your portraits.
ReplyDeleteYour photography is growing and maturing. The house is nice but the portrait is a cut above, so much more personal and revealing.
ReplyDeleteI have my then and now post going up at 00.01 my time, GMT -6.
Beautiful portrait Steffe, i know what you mean about thinking more about the composition now.
ReplyDeleteYour portrait is stunning Steffe .... it's the one area of photography that scares me ...... Perhaps that should be my next challenge.
ReplyDeleteI still find portraits too scary to take so I am sticking to bird portraits :-) Yours are superb.
ReplyDeleteI like them both!
ReplyDeleteBoth of these pictures are beautiful. I am always envious of your talent.
ReplyDeleteA very high quality then and now!
ReplyDeleteIt is interesting to read your thoughts on this subject. I agree with the others - both shots are excellent and you really do know how to get the best portraits!
ReplyDeleteBoth are wonderful. I still haven't worked up the nerve to take street portraits.
ReplyDeleteYou just recently started street portraits? I'm in awe! I always - always loved your portraiture, and now I find you do gorgeous landscapes too! I would like some day to take one photo half as good as either of these beauties. Thanks for encouraging me to be better through your example.
ReplyDeleteI love your portraits. You are a real inspiration for a lot of us around I think. From time to time I wonder if I shouldnt be doing something like that too, but I never seem to pluck up the courage.
ReplyDeleteI did love your houses too! I remember the tree that you showed us during several seasons.
