Theme Day. Action. This is an ambulance helicopter circling over central Handen earlier this year. I was talking to a few people when we suddenly heard the helicopter. I grabbed my camera and took a few quick photos before it disappeared over the roof tops. They were trying to find a place to land, and a minute later they touched down on a grassy area in a nearby park. The reason for all this was that a man was running after a bus, he slipped and was run over by the bus, his life could not be saved.

i almost chose a nearly identical shot of an ambulance helicopter here in the skies of new england for the theme. this is a great choice, steffe.
ReplyDeletetres bon choix pour le theme
ReplyDeleteA sad story this time but good that those little choppers are near when you need them.
ReplyDeleteYou really got a close and clear shot.
I posted two helicopters landing at the hospital, but photographed from a moving bus.
How sad. The tragic outcome made this action shot more powerful.
ReplyDeleteNice action shot -- love those blurred blades. Very unfortunate reason, though, for the chopper being there.
ReplyDeleteGreat action shot for today. Too bad about the man running for the bus. I live only a few blocks from one of the major trauma centers in the Phoenix area. I hear helicopters coming and going all of the time. In fact, when I first moved here, they would fly right over my house and rattle all the windows. My neighbors and I met with city officials to complain about the noise and they changed the flight pattern so that the helicopters follow streets now so that they aren't flying directly over houses.
ReplyDeleteThis is a good choice for an action shot but unfortunate about the man who didn't make it.
ReplyDeleteSad story - impressive picture.
ReplyDeletethat is really sad.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos. What a coincidence. I have almost the same photo you want to put on my blog. The same helicopter, the same yellow color. Hospital we are close to the house. The helicopter flies several times a day. Hello you. / Peter.
ReplyDeleteVery active! Hope whoever was inside made it in time.
ReplyDeleteA fine photo but a very sad story. Thank goodness, though, for such helicopters. We call them "Life-flight" helicopters.
ReplyDeleteI hate to see these helicopters - usually someone is in trouble! Good shot though!!
ReplyDeleteAwesome shot, but awful story.
ReplyDeleteVery nice photo shot, thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteIt was my first choice for this theme day, but luckily we didn't see any in the last days...
ReplyDeleteThe photo was perfect; the story really brought it home.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
