Midsummer is the most important weekend in Sweden. I visited the Midsummer celebrations that took place in the park in Jordbro earlier today. A few hundred people had gathered to dancing around the Midsummer Pole and listen to live music. There was also a lot of fun for all the kids. Here is a slide show with a few photos. Looks like great fun - I was in Sweden one year for midsommar and it was wonderful. Took me by surprise how everything was shut down though.

ReplyDeleteNow, THAT is red hair, even if it is chemically assisted. Great photographs. I can see why Swedes would celebrate midsummer. We don't celebrate it in the US.

Wonderful set of photos. Some of your portraits are really sweet with the ladies wearing flower crowns. I'd love to go to Sweden for midsummer one day.
