Viper & Toad
These two are not friends. Especially since the Viper tends to eat the Toad whenever it gets an opportunity to do so. I met the Viper in Jordbro this afternoon as it was crossing the bike path. I noticed the Toad on a road in Handen an hour earlier.
Yikes. That first photo made me shudder... Apparently I used to love snakes as a girl and would capture them in our yard... I think I must have grown out of that!
Interesting wildlife!
ReplyDeleteI was afraid you were going to tell us the viper ate this toad. So glad this one got away. Is that an insect on the back of the viper?
ReplyDeleteGreat macros. So small space for their brains, so much for their bellies. Just a thought))

Well, the toad has a one hour headstart, at least.
ReplyDeleteI am amazed the kinds of photograph on wildlife you can take !
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures, ugly subjects. I hope you used a tele...
ReplyDeleteIt's the only lens that still works Mr. Poet. Shot with this one.
ReplyDeleteIt's a real achievement to capture these animals in so much detail! Toads can be so hard to spot in the first place.
